Placemaker Lab: Community Seminars

From Vision to Viable: Making Place-Based Development Pencil

Wes Craiglow, Urban Land Institute Northwest Arkansas

Time
5:30pm - 7:00pm

Location
Zoom

This workshop is designed for downtown, BID, and district leaders who are often caught between community vision and development reality. Participants will learn why promising downtown projects stall—and how BIDs and place-based organizations can help align market demand, public policy, and community goals to move projects forward. Through practical examples, the session clarifies how deals are evaluated, where friction typically occurs, and how district leaders can function as effective translators between cities, developers, and the community to help place-based projects pencil and succeed.
